Halloween is right around the corner but, I really think children enjoy having dress up time year round so, I decided to make some play silks. Play silks are just that, squares of fabric (some are silk) that can be tied and used in "dress up" play for preschoolers. I have used a chiffon supplied by my sponsor Wholeport.com. I was afraid to sew this fabric I hadn't worked with anything so sheer before but, this fabric sewed up like a dream! I just measured out a 30-inch x 30-inch square and turned the raw edges over and sewed with a straight stitch. Be sure and use a lightweight needle, I used a size 11. I am really pleased with how they turned out and they should be useful for lots of "dress up" play.
The fabric is really sheer and it was a lot of fun to use for peek-a-boo and to play like your a ghost. This fabric would actually make a fantastic ghost costume because it would be spooky and you could see through it!
The only thing more popular than the play silks on my trial run was the broom!
Thank you to Wholeport for sponsoring this post!
